HABITAT MAGAZINE

The editorial team at HABITAT Magazine publish poetry, fiction, and non-fiction writing. Their publication features many curated authors and categories, and required a flexible page design and intriguing cover.

The issue incorporates 22 authors and 31 various works of poetry, fiction. and non-fiction. Working from the editorial teams curated order of stories, I developed a layout system that displays author and title to begin the work, and the category of writing along with the authors name in the running header to orient the reader.

Hashtag Basic

Display font using basic constrained geometry. 

using a 1:3 rectangular grid and minimal 45 and 90 degree geometric to convey each unique letter and number individually. Uniform kerning pairs allow for multi-line stackable grid that can be tracked evenly. Counters removed to allow for obnoxious minimalism.

Good African Coffee

Ad campaign for Good African Coffee. A community based coffee roaster and distributer collective supporting Ugandan coffee farming communities.

Good African shares 50% of all profits with their growers. These farmers are part of communities that, without this economic structure, might be forced to fight for the corrupt militias. Their message is reflected by showing that the humble coffee bean can replace the weapons of war, championing the cause of creating healthy lives by enjoying a cup of coffee that has integrity.

 

GRANDPAS TWEEZERS

Re-branding of artisan handmade tweezer company

Grandpa's Tweezers is a family owned and operated manufacturer of handmade high quality tweezers. They are in their own words crafted with care, and made for life. A mom and pop operation required direction and brand consistency and a more grass roots and personable identity that accurately depicts their craft.

Website now focuses on the single product and provides a quick and easy way to purchase the product on the landing page, with further reading and product info/galleries below

SCIENCE MUSEUM IDENTITY

The Weather Zone, is a children's museum that explores the science of meteorology. Each wing is filled with interactive exhibits aimed towards interaction. The branding guide was directed to be inviting and promote the hands-on learning and interaction.

UNAPOLOGETICALLY, TY

logo / cover art for Unapologetically, Ty. A journalist's gritty and honest podcast dive into hidden culture. Podcast covers display at both thumbnail and full screen sizes. Many podcast apps and sites display thumbnails circularly cropped as well. To overcome these challenges, the cover is simple and circular. This allows readability at 16x16 thumbnail size, while allowing the 3d modeled logo to be show its detail when full screen.
