False Idol

All hail.

Once you start using the sculpting tools in Cinema they're really not so confusing, weird, but not so confusing. I really wish i had one of these in real life... not to eat, but if I won it in a corn dog eating contest I'd feel pretty proud.

Centrifugal Force

Understanding the concept of mograph effectors has been and is still difficult. namely shader, plane, random, and the use weight maps within them. There isn't a single editable polygon anywhere in this comp, everything is a primitive which makes fine tuning once all the effectors are on really easy and time saving. This one combines a few cloner & effector techniques, but was more concentrated on achieving a plastic/glass looking frosted material and getting the overlaps to really show where the objects intersect. Planning on using similar styled material on an upcoming project. Just wish rough reflections weren't such a render hog on Physical.

Fokus

Actually just a test render I set up for material, reflection, and lighting accuracy that I added a viewfinder focus concept to in post. Really digging the idea of fantasy 3D + fantasy UI creation lately. Had no idea until recently there was an entire job market for it, but just look at Iron Man and Total Recall, really amazing stuff. Render settings were super high on this mother, I let my little laptop rip this one out while I worked on the desktop beast. Took the poor lil' guy four hours

Start Dis Party

Sites Live yo! here's a bumper for it. like one of those Adult Swim bumpers that were more like "hey here's something weird and creative that we made that's mostly just for entertaining stoned dudes watching cartoons at 3:30am, also our name at the end of it so its kind of a commercial" I've always loved those. song is Fine Wine by Brock Berrigan

Like A Lot, Lot

Cause ur pretty and smart and make really good eggs.

Done with dynamics, which went "unbaked" as the kids say. I was essentially watching where the math gets heavy in slow mo unknowingly and animating based on that. Which is why the speed of the second group of letters is sorta too fast and awkward. Because cinema 4d thinks each one weighs 12 tons and worth more than the Pacific Ocean, like if you were to buy the Pacific Ocean and pay... everyone? is that how it would work. Ahh, pay all of the countries touching the Pacific Ocean. Yes that's correct

The Quest to Suck Less

A place to post my successes and failures while I explore the tools and processes of creation. Currently tackling Cinema 4D, and its learning curve seems to never plateau. On top of it all, I've been putting this portfolio site together for the last couple weeks. So this particular post is a touch behind, and is a backlog.
